Art Paris Art Fair : une nouvelle vocation pour 2012
La promotion des scènes artistiques européennes
Rendez-vous printanier pour l’art moderne et contemporain, Art Paris Art Fair, qui se tiendra du 29 mars au 1er avril 2012 au Grand Palais, évolue sous la direction de Guillaume Piens, nouveau commissaire général de la manifestation.
Art Paris Art Fair se concentre sur la promotion des scènes artistiques européennes : « une exploration au sens large qui va de la Scandinavie aux Balkans, des pays de la méditerranée
à l’Europe centrale, avec une attention portée aux scènes locales et singulières ». La scène française bénéficiera d’une visibilité exceptionnelle avec la création de plateformes soulignant le dynamisme de quatre villes : Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille et Nantes.
Pour appuyer cette nouvelle orientation qui s’accompagne d’une nouvelle identité visuelle conçue par Agent Créatif(s), Art Paris Art Fair se dote d’un comité d’experts reconnus pour leur engagement en faveur de la création européenne. Ils seront chargés d’assurer la sélection des galeries participantes.
Le comité de sélection d’Art Paris Art Fair est composé de six galeristes :

Bernard Ceysson, Galerie Bernard Ceysson (Paris, Saint-Etienne, Luxembourg)
Directeur du musée d’Art Moderne de Saint-Étienne dès 1977, du Musée National d’Art Moderne de Paris de 1986 à 1987, il a également piloté la création du Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean au Luxembourg, Mudam. Ces diverses expériences au sein d’institutions, auxquelles s’ajoute celle de galeriste, font de lui un témoin majeur de tous les courants esthétiques et idéologiques qui ont traversé les arts plastiques depuis les années 1960 jusqu’à nos jours, et en particulier le mouvement Support-Surface.
Ernst Hilger, Hilger Contemporary & Galerie Ernst Hilger (Vienne)
Curator et galeriste autrichien, Ernst Hilger s’intéresse à l’art moderne international depuis 1945 et à la création émergente notamment celle d’Europe centrale et des Balkans. Prolongeant l’impact de ses expositions par un riche programme d’éditions et la création récente d’un centre d’art privé « Hilger BrotKunsthalle », Ernst Hilger défend aussi bien les artistes modernes autrichiens comme Hans Staudacher et Georg Eisler, que les représentants de la figuration narrative, en passant par de jeunes artistes comme l’artiste croate Renata Poljak, la slovène Miha Štrukelj, ou le bulgare Ivan Moudov.
Catherine Issert, Galerie Catherine Issert (Saint-Paul de Vence)
Après avoir commencé sa carrière auprès de Jean Fournier puis d’Aimé Maeght, Catherine
Issert décide d’ouvrir sa galerie à Saint-Paul de Vence en 1975 avec une première exposition monographique consacrée à Claude Viallat. Se plaçant dans une ligne directrice qui valorise l’avant-garde, elle s’est ensuite mise à exposer d’autres grands artistes plasticiens tels que Calzolari, Armleder, Morellet, pour ouvrir son programme aux générations suivantes avec Varini, Verjux, Pinaud… Proche de la Villa Arson et du Fonds Régional d’Art Contemporain PACA, Catherine Issert oeuvre activement pour le rayonnement de l’art dans le Sud de la France, et bien au-delà.
Barbara Polla, Galerie Analix Forever (Genève)
Barbara Polla ouvre sa galerie d’art contemporain à Genève en 1991, qu’elle conçoit comme un lieu où les artistes se rencontrent, où l’on discute et écrit sur l’art, un lieu où les frontières entre l’art et la vie sont constamment réévaluées. Barbara Polla promeut depuis 20 ans des artistes comme Stefano Arienti, Vanessa Beecroft, Maurizio Cattelan, Martin Creed, Mat Collishaw, Tracey Emin, Sarah Lucas, Victor Man, Daria Martin ou Gianni Motti. Depuis 2010, la galerie développe des projets nomades.
Martine Schneider-Speller, Galerie Beaumontpublic (Luxembourg)
Directrice de la galerie Beaumontpublic, Martine Schneider-Speller aime les choix radicaux et présente les grands noms de l’art contemporain explorant divers mediums artistiques : Marina Abramovic, Atelier Van Lieshout, Louise Bourgeois, Wim Delvoye, Jan Fabre, Jenny Holzer, Per Kirkeby, Marie-Jo Lafontaine, Jonathan Meese…
« Séries Limitées » : la plateforme de création design d’Art Paris Art Fair
Parmi les nouveautés de l’édition 2012, Art Paris Art Fair lance une plateforme dédiée à la création design contemporaine européenne. Intitulée « Séries Limitées », la conception de cette plateforme a été confiée à Bénédicte Colpin, experte en design.
Cette initiative est motivée par l’envie de valoriser les acteurs majeurs de ce secteur qui défendent la création design contemporaine en France et en Europe. Situé au coeur du Grand Palais, ce secteur donne à voir aux collectionneurs et aux amateurs des pièces exclusives produites en séries très limitées. Supports d’une idée, d’une personnalité, d’un univers créatif, ces objets rares témoignent de l’excellence des savoir-faire, de l’innovation et du dessin, tout en établissant de nombreuses passerelles avec l’art contemporain.

Literacy for Life is the second report from the Adult Literacy and Life Skills Survey. It presents additional results on the nature and magnitude of the literacy gaps faced by OECD countries and how these gaps have evolved over the medium term. It offers new insights into the factors that influence the formation of adult skills in various settings – at home and at work – for the eleven countries participating in the first and last round of data collection between 2003 and 2008. The study offers comparative evidence on the impact of various factors on the supply of skill. The study offers a special focus on numeracy skills and problem solving skills. It explores the relationships between numeracy and key socio-demographic factors as well as labour market outcomes and earnings. It highlights the importance of problem solving skills by defining this foundational skill and by exploring its determinants as well as its relative role in influencing important labour market outcomes. The report offers also an analysis of performance across multiple skill domains. It investigates the skill profiles of various population groups defined in terms of the demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of those who score at levels deemed to be low in one or more skill domains and explores the resulting consequences. The report concludes by investigating the issue of skill mismatch in the labour market and its relationship to adult learning. On the 50th anniversary of the OECD, we examine the unique work the organisation performs in regulating and rationalising governments’ use of export credits in support of exports, jobs, economic growth and national interests more broadly. This work is part of a global post war effort to emphasise multilateral co operation and sound economic policies to promote co operation, efficiency and prosperity rather than destructive competition, controversy and conflict. OECD export credits work is one of the basic building blocks of the ever growing structure of global trade agreements that aim to maintain open and efficient markets. The objective is to eliminate subsidies and unfair practices in the economic competition that forms the foundation of a healthy and dynamic global economy. The elimination of official financing subsidies in global trade is only a part of the broader trade policy agenda, but it is a vital part, and has been delegated to the OECD by the WTO. Since financing is the life blood of trade flows, specialised OECD housed work allows trade to flow efficiently for aircraft and other capital goods while other trade policy work and litigation continue at the WTO. The export credits work at the OECD is described in this collection of essays. However it is about much more than the series of agreements described herein. It is more fundamentally about the governments and their people - policy makers and experts - who gather at the OECD to build collectively a system of export credits disciplines that is fair, transparent, adaptable and effective. It is therefore as much about people and ideas as anything else. The export credit secretariat pictured above represents only the latest in a long line of OECD staff committed to facilitate and advise this work. The OECD’s motto on its 50th anniversary is “Better Policies for Better Lives.” This reminds us that in the end, it is policies that are at the centre of human well being. Entrepreneurship at a Glance is a new, recurrent publication that presents an original collection of indicators for measuring the state of entrepreneurship along with explanations of the policy context and interpretation of the data. This publication also includes special chapters that address measurement issues, and solutions, concerning entrepreneurship and its determinants. In this first issue the special topics covered are: business demography, green entrepreneurs and angel capital. This new publication is a product of the OECD-Eurostat Entrepreneurship Indicators Programme, which is a long-term programme of internationally-comparable policy-relevant entrepreneurship statistics. The work involves developing standard definitions and concepts and engaging countries and international Agencies in the collection of data.
